There are many ways to become involved!
First - Become a Vincentian (Volunteer)
Time Commitment: Attend our conference meetings for prayer, reflection, and planning (1st Tuesday of the month, 6PM to 7PM), and dedicate a few minutes each month or a few hours each month to a conference activity.
Call Taker Responsibilities:
• Make compassionate phone calls to neighbors who have requested assistance.
• Listen respectfully and gather information about their needs.
• Coordinate assistance for needs such as food, utilities, rent, and other vital resources.
• Offer prayers and build personal relationships.
Time Commitment: Dedicate a few hours each week to conducting neighbor outreach.
Food pantry and distribution:
Help ensure that no family in our community goes hungry.
• Food Item Purchase Trips & Collection Trips.
• Sorting/Stocking: Receive, sort, and shelve donations in the pantry.
• Assembly and Delivery: Assemble and deliver food bags to neighbors' homes.
Time Commitment: Flexible shifts are available for various tasks throughout the week. Food deliveries are typically on Wednesday and Saturday.
Resource Management.:
Support our resource efforts by helping to manage financial and other resources.
• Follow up with social service agencies and other organizations to confirm resource availability.
• Assist in maintaining records.
• Assist with Council training.
• Website maintenance.
Time Commitment: Can be flexible and may involve working from home.
Special Projects
Assist our conference with special projects as they arise.
